From Surgical Data to
Clinical Discovery

At Surgical Data Science Collective (SDSC), we connect surgeons, scientists, and engineers to unlock the insights hidden within surgical data. Our AI technologies empower you to explore and discover answers to your most pressing questions, enhancing techniques, and improving patient outcomes.

problem

While leading surgeons can achieve outcomes tenfold better than the norm, modern training systems often fail to keep pace with this potential. This results in a shortage of skilled surgeons available to meet global patient needs.

At SDSC, we're dedicated to bridging this gap through our innovations in surgical research and training. Our scalable solutions empower surgeons to cultivate and maintain higher proficiency, making quality care accessible for all.

Surgeons Speak: The Transformative Impact of SDSC's Platform

I was already intrigued when I saw the early publications and talks that eventually led to the development of SDSC, but what really convinced me to get involved was the opportunity to help guide the development of high impact tools within the SDSC platform that I think will be especially beneficial for residents and junior surgeons looking to take their skills to the next level

SDSC is playing a transformative role in global surgery by using AI-driven video analysis to bridge gaps in surgical training and practice. Their work empowers surgeons worldwide with real-time insights, enhancing precision and safety, and helping to improve outcomes across diverse healthcare settings.

SDSC is changing the way we can do video-based review in laparoscopic surgery. This can help learners learn how to do laparoscopy more effectively and efficiently. I would love to see this applied to the low-and middle-income country setting where there are fewer available teachers physically at the bedside.

SDSC is an innovative company with a highly efficient and trustworthy team. One of the team's key strengths is its excellence in its roles and its ability to foster a strong sense of belonging akin to a family. In May 2024, I was proud to receive a grant from the Spanish Neurosurgical Society (SENEC) for a project in neurosciences, focusing on the application of artificial intelligence in gliomas. SDSC played a pivotal role in making this project possible, and the national grant endorses the significant impact that SDSC can make in advancing research.
